The Greatest Compliment Is Seeing Familiar Faces Again
Some sessions stay with you for the photographs.
Others stay with you because of the people.
Yesterday reminded me, once again, why I love being a photographer.
The family who walked through my studio doors wasn't new to me. In fact, it was the fourth time they had chosen me to capture another chapter of their story.
As photographers, it's easy to focus on creating beautiful images, finding the perfect light or carefully styling every detail. But the truth is, the most meaningful compliment isn't a social media like or a kind comment.
It's when someone comes back.
When a family trusts you not just once, but over the years, you realise that photography is about so much more than pictures. It's about creating an experience where people feel relaxed, understood and completely themselves.
Watching children grow from one session to the next is one of the greatest privileges of this job. Every visit tells a new story. New smiles, new personalities, new memories waiting to be preserved.
Knowing that this family has invited me to be part of those moments four different times means more than words can express. It reminds me that trust is built through genuine connections, patience and care—not just through beautiful photographs.
Every session is different, but the feeling remains the same.
I never take that trust for granted.
To every family who has returned to my studio, thank you for allowing me to witness your journey and preserve the moments that matter most. It is a privilege I will always cherish.
This is the reason I love what I do.
And I hope there will be many more chapters of your story for us to capture together.
